Frequently Asked Questions...
Australian 20 cent coin with extra silver?
hey my dad used to work in a bank and one day he brought alot of 20 cent coins home but they were different they were much heavier and i asked my dad how come there so heavy and he told me there was a fault in the coin making machine and accidently put more silver in the coin than usual he told me to keep these coins for a few years then to sell them has anyone heard of this or got any of these coins how much are they worth?
Answer:
The coin making machine is just a great big press. The only fault that can occur is if it stops or breaks:it can't change the metal content. The people who produced the metal would have had to accidently put some silver in-hardly likely. The small amount of silver would hardly be worth anything anyway!
