My wee wife is 50 next month, and our 25th anniversary is in April. She always wanted a gold bracelet, and I have bought her one for her birthday. My children have clubbed together to buy her a gold necklace for her birthday also and her parents have bought her a pair of gold earrings.
However; I am now stuck with what to buy my wife for our silver anniversary which is the following month. What kind of necklace did they get? You could get a slide (aka pendant) to go over it. You could get a pendant custom made for her with the birthstones of your children. Get it made in platinum or combine white gold and gold so that it will match the necklace. I think that's the best idea.
Since your wife clearly prefers gold over silver, who says you need to get her something to wear for the anniversary? You could get something else that's silver. I'd personally go for platinum over silver due to the tarnish. A crystal vase with silver running through it.
Since it's your 25th, get something having to do with the wedding itself. For example, frame the original invite or get a recreation of her bouquet from pictures and get it sealed in glass. My aunt did that for mine and I love it but they didn't do that 25 years ago. Is there something she treasures from the wedding? You could get an afghan with your wedding date embroidered in silver. My grandmother had silver bells engraved with the birthday of her two boys (one each) that she hangs on the Christmas tree each year. She did that the boy's first birthday but you could just as easily do it now.
I like play on words. Taking her to a restaurant that has silver in its name or a weekend getaway to a bed and breakfast called silver. A charm for a charm bracelet. A silver wallet that has tickets to something you can do together. Wicked is going on tour.
